Hi LeverageGuru! I just wanted to check in and let you know that I added some Season 2 episode pages along with the synopsis to already existing pages. I wanted to see if you wouldn't mind if I edited the mobile main page and added content to that? I'm also available to help out with anything else that you need assistance with. Let me know!
Also, sorry about the duplicate pages. Do you mind if I re-add the synopsis to the right pages? Or is there a certain format that you are following that I'm not aware of? Just want to know so that you don't have to go through and re-do my edits.
Of course not; go ahead. I construct all the articles by production number early so the template and formatting are in place, then move them when I have titles. That's what the system going down kept me from finishing. I've got templates they link to and link to them, so I deleted yours to be sure nothing got broken along the way! You know what a pill templates can be.
Everything I needed to fix that I couldn't finish last night/early this morning is done now, so we're ready to built the articles. I've got to find out what one title refers to!!
It's funny, but once I get rolling, it's like a snowball going downhill. The formatting isn't that hard once the first article is set up. The nuisance is running around making sure all the templates are right. I did that first, before I started messing with what was visible, fortunately, before the system was locked.
The rest need articles, but I want to re-do the character infobox, then will set them up. In the meantime, I did an overhaul on locations, covering the major royal and governmental locations that have figured through S1 and S2. I think Lambeth Palace may go; I might have set it up in error (thinking it was St. James's Palace.)
Hi LeverageGuru! I'm Mike with FANDOM's Community Development Team. With the upcoming release of the second season of The Crown, I am offering my help to redesign and update the wiki's main page to include Season 2 info. Let me know what you think, and I can get started as soon as possible!
That's totally understandable. At the moment, my ideas for the main page would not change it drastically. More of an update of content to ensure that Season 2 information is present on the main page in time for the premiere. That might mean updating the slider for new content, expanding the character gallery for new characters, adding a Discussions feed to the main page, etc. I can mock up my ideas on my sandbox wiki for your approval before pushing them live, and if you have any specific ideas then I'm happy to work with you like that as well.
There isn't much available yet; S2 doesn't drop for three months. The slider was updated when the first S2 images were released, so there's really nothing more to add there at present. Updating for S2 would be preferable when there is more to use.
Go ahead and do your mock up, definitely. I'm interested to see what you have in mind. There's another admin who drops in occasionally, and she does a lot with images, so it may be best to hold off making final changes until she can see them.
Just wanted to let you know I changed the ep + character templates back to stacked, as I found it more streamlined, though, of course, it's a matter of preference. :)
Also to say, though I am an editor here, in fairness, my other wikis keep me quite busy and your work here leads me to think you may have more of a chance to build this wiki than I. To say, no worries if you which to change it back. And then I guess apologies for any inconvenience. This turned out to be a peculiar decision-taking message on my part.
I don't know whether it caught your eye, but I'm also an admin here now, and one of the things I'm working on is bringing this page up to U.S. accessibility standards under P.L 93-112, Section 508. The problem with the streamlined format is that screen readers and other adaptive devices can't read it properly, and by law, that has to be corrected. The tabular format is easier for adaptive devices to read and more concise, so I'm going to roll it all back. You'll notice I've also re-done the background so we have a high-contrast environment.
I'm happy to work with you, not against you, on this wiki. I think you'll find I'm pretty flexible as a rule (this particular issue being the exception), and would love to chat about your ideas and mine. And you're right, I'll be here a lot; I've been busy building background articles, like the one about Norman Hartnell I'm working on now.
You'll also find I'm pretty well versed in British form and terminology; for example Parliament is Britain's legislative body, but Government is the correct term for its administrative body, notably the Prime Minister's office and his cabinet. That's why I changed the label from Parliament to Government.
No worries, and cool with regards to accessibility standards. Yeah, wasn't particularly clear in my last message, actually thought I had deleted it ha.
I won't be able to edit here that much, discuss and contribute ideas etc. Although I'm getting the impression (and from your messages with Therese) that you are already in full swing on that front! But of course feel free to write me with any queries and I'll respond whenever possible.
You did remove it, but I could still see it, and wanted to reply. I'm glad you understand; I want us to work collaboratively and have some fun!! This is a popular series in the U.S., which is why getting the accessibility right is important.
